Chhath Puja Special Recipe
1. ½ kilo wheat flour(atta)
2. 3 teaspoon desi ghee
3. 1.5 cup refined oil
4. 1.5 cup water
5. 350 gm sugar/jaggery/mishri
6. 1 teaspoon powdered green cardamom(elaichi)
7. ½ cup grated coconut
8. 1 teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)
In a medium sized heavy bottom pan, boil 1.5 cup of water. Add the sugar after a boil and keep stirring. As soon as it melts, switch the burner off.
Now add ghee to this syrup. Let it cool down.
In a bowl, add the wheat flour, cardamom powder, fennel seeds, grated coconut. Now using the sugar and ghee syrup prepared, knead the dough. You need to ensure that the dough you knead should be hard.
Now, make small or medium sized sized balls and flatten them later with the help of your hand.
Heat the oil. Now start deep frying the pieces until they are golden brown in color.
Ensure that you fry in medium heat so that it cooks from inside too.
Your Thekua Prasad is ready.
